A slower day at West Glacier, I drove back up to Logan Pass, at the top of Going-to-the-Sun Road, to hike through snow to Hidden Lake, took a nap in the middle of the day, then hiked through dense forests to Avalanche Lake. Both lakes were peaceful and serene.

Avalanche Lake, a stunning lake with tall waterfalls tumbling down the cliffs from glacier-melt high above. I sat on a bench for a long time lost in the view:
The forests in the Avalanche valley appeared old and noble, as if they knew truths beyond human knowing:
